If you’re new to CONNETIX - welcome! You’re about to discover one of the most loved 'toys' in our store and our home, too. These magnetic tiles spark imagination, creativity, and hours of open-ended play - for toddlers right through to big kids and let’s be honest, adults too.
But with so many sets to choose from, where should you start? Here’s a simple guide to finding the perfect first set for your family.
💫 Just Getting Started?
If you’re new to magnetic tiles, start with a well-rounded set that gives you a good mix of shapes and colours. These sets offer endless possibilities for early builds and family play.
Recommended Sets:
-
Starter Pack - the most popular starting point, with everything you need for basic builds and creative play.
-
Mini Pack - great if you’re dipping your toes in or gifting to a younger child.
Tip: start small, follow your child’s lead, and you’ll be amazed by what they dream up.
🏡 For Families or Siblings
If you’ve got more than one child or love big builds, go for a set with more pieces to keep everyone building happily (no fighting over squares!).
Recommended Sets:
-
Creative Pack - perfect for shared play, bigger builds, and long-term use.
-
Mega Pack - the ultimate starter set for families who love to build together.
The more tiles, the more ways to play - CONNETIX grows beautifully with your family.
💰 Starting on a Budget?
Every CONNETIX set connects, so you can start small and build over time. Many families begin with a Starter Pack or Mini Pack, then add extras like Base Plates or a Ball Run later.
💡 Tips & Tricks from the Playroom
Over the years, we’ve seen how families make the most out of their CONNETIX sets - and we’ve learned a few tricks along the way:
✨ Start with a standard set, not the Ball Run.
The Ball Run is amazing - but it’s designed to extend your collection, not start it. You’ll find it’s fairly limited to ball run builds, and you’ll get much more creative play value from a Starter or Creative Pack first.
🧱 Add Base Plates early.
They help builds stay strong and steady (and prevent frustrated little builders when towers tumble).
🌈 Mix colours and sizes.
Rainbow, pastel, clear - they all connect! Mixing colours and shapes encourages even more open-ended play.
👶 For little ones, start flat.
You don’t have to build towers right away! Begin with 2D builds - matching colours, shapes, or creating patterns on the floor or fridge.
